Africa of Sarkozy. A denial of history
Jean-Pierre Christian (dir).
Coll Paris, Karthala. "Disputatio", June, 2008, 203 pages
On July 26th, 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy pronounced a speech in the places of the University of Dakar on the Africain culture confronted with the modernity, which took back plates on the "continent out of history". This speech provoked a deep emotion, notably in Africa. This work, written by five Africain and French academics, represents an incisive criticism of this denial of history, by showing at the same time scientific absurdity and motives of its survival in France in public opinion and in education.
