summary of thesis : This thesis concerns the different ways the dead of which are represented in rituals and funeral songs of Moose (Mossi, Burkina Faso) from the west : care brought in symbolic bodies of the deceaseds, manipulation of object, simulations, constitutes so much ways of restructuring their characters to make them become ancestors. Songs of funeral participate entirely in this process making, by particular stylistic techniques, at the same time call to stereotypic pictures of the deceaseds and to significant episodes of their lives, which allow to make ancestors "rightfully " of them. Besides, the appeal in a pragmatic analysis allows to underline how, while aiming at acting on death, in concourrant at the same time in the passage of one or of a deceased in Beyond ancestral and in the restructuring of the social reports, songs started singing in the context of funeral constitute for their interpreters a means to redefine their own social position, within relational networks more generally reworded in ritual.
