The divinatory systems and the rituals of possession did not lose their dynamism in modern Africain context. Course intends to analyse thoroughly someone of these ritual techniques such as it is possible to notice it on the coasts of Western Africa. It is about an approach at the same time ritualistic and compared for two neighbouring cultural aeries : akan (Ivory Coast and Ghana) and ajatado (Ghana, Togo, Benin).
Anthropologist of ground and video director herself, the teacher will offer in every course a filmed document which will allow a detailed study of forms of communications peculiar to language of the possession and to dialogue oraculaire : objects intervening in the introduced ritual, the space device and correlations.
A particular attention is granted at the same time in the system of beliefs relating to the conception of the person and in the social and political organisation the social and political organisation of societies studied in a defined historical context.
Different studied topics aim at putting in contact : body of the having and places of the land, order of the had soothsayers and political power, trance and prophesying, possession and sacrifice.
