Major actor of the prehistory in Europe and in Africa, tireless passenger, inventor and surveyor of new fields, conductor between disciplines, creator and animator of institutional networks on the scale of the planet, man of faith and of science, Henry Breuil (1877-1961) was a key figure of human sciences of the XXth century. Its numerous facets are an invitation to explore a route, in a collective and interdisciplinary way, (intellectual, institutional, political, geographical...) and a teeming work which register in a cloth gripped by relations and by institutions, in the history of several disciplines, in changeable scientific and ideological contexts. The " Archives Breuil " research programme unites prehistorians and archaeologists, historians of sciences and of ideas, africanists and specialists of the cave art, in perspective to visit again Breuil - the biography, archives, practices, theories, work. All are aware of the necessity to cross competences to give rise to new objects of study, to reread the fundamental chapters of history and of epistemology of the sciences of the man in the XXth century, ré - to question the theoretical frames and the practices of different concerned disciplines.
